Successful Holiday Challenge
Atlantic Cancer Research Institute McCain Foundation Holiday Challenge Campaign a Success!
Throughout the month of December the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute (ACRI) and The McCain Foundation invited the public to celebrate their good fortune or commemorate lost loved ones by making a donation through the McCain Foundation Holiday Challenge. During this matching gift campaign, every donation made until January 6, 2013 was matched dollar for dollar by The McCain Foundation. We are pleased to announce that the campaign raised $52,756.97 for ACRI.
"I am always amazed by the outstanding support of our community," says Sophie Theriault, Director of Business Development and Communications for ACRI. "Cancer touches everyone at some level and as a result of that, people are very generous when it comes to helping us find solutions. Cancer research is what leads to effective treatment. It's a core activity to fund if we want to find better and more solutions.I think the knowledge that both the incidence of cancer and mortality rates are highest here in Atlantic Canada and that all money raised stays in our community to help support leading-edge research encouraged people to give during this holiday season. We are extremely thankful for everyone who donated during this campaign as well as for the support of The McCain Foundation."
